ABOUT THE PROJECT:


Mitchel Van Duuren is the go-to guy when it comes to Paleo in the Netherlands. He founded the brand Foodie with the aim and dream to help hundreds and thousands of people get their health back, by helping them take their first step towards a Paleo diet.

Our team's job is then to create a brand that has the possibility to become more like a movement. To create an identity that draws people in, and to make them feel like they are part of a very special movement towards a better way of life.

FIRST THINGS FIRST, PENCIL TO PAPER:

We started of course by going back to pencil and paper to develop more logo designs with the calligraphic style you were after. I think I counted about 250 different word marks being created. Each day we would get together, pick our favourites, and brainstorm on how they could become more refined concepts, and refined logo marks.

Our brainstorming sessions consisted of putting up all the designs we were working on and as a group, discussing which ideas were working better and which to take further to get to our 3 final concepts.

CONCEPT 1: LOVE FOODIE

When designing many logos by hand, we came across the shape of heart that the F could form and we thought that this would be perfect for the brand. Paleo is all about taking better care of yourself, & loving yourself through the food that you eat.

CONCEPT 2: SEAL OF APPROVAL

The way we see it, anyone following the Foodie blog is checking what is good or not for their body. If it's not "Foodie" approved, then they will try not to eat it. In a way, Foodie then becomes an authority brand, an aspirational one, and therefore we thought we could treat the logo like a "seal of approval". That is why we took one of our favourite word marks and developed it into a stamp like logo.

CONCEPT 3: A DYNAMIC LOGO

Increasingly, in the world of fast paced and ever changing technology, you see more and more dynamic logos. This means logos that take many shapes and can vary and morph to their different uses.

We wanted to show you how your brand can have this advantage too and came up with this logo that can take many shapes, depending on for example, the type of recipe you are talking about. It will also work beautifully in your youtube channel.
